We invite you to step back in time and enjoy the splendor of yesteryear in this magnificent c.1746 center chimney colonial bed and breakfast inn listed on the National Historic Register!
The elegant guest rooms are romantically furnished in period style each with a working fireplace and/or jacuzzi-whirlpool tub, cable TV, high speed wireless Internet, stereo/cd player, phone/modem line, AC as well as a floor fan or ceiling fan, and private bath; most with four poster or canopy beds and comfortable sitting areas.
This charming home boasts many fine original details including original wide-board floors throughout, hand-hewn beams, wainscoting, a corner cupboard, beehive oven and six working fireplaces. The house was built by Deacon Timothy Pratt in 1746 and served as a private school in the 1790s. In our Pratt House Scrap Book, you can read an excerpt from a girls journal who attended school here. Timothy Pratt was a carpenter and served as a Deacon in the church across the street, thus its present day name.
A formal, candlelit breakfast is served in the elegant, fireplaced dining room on fine china, and silver. Full breakfast is served on weekends, and an expanded continental breakfast is served weekdays.
